THE MANAGEMENT CENTER
TMC has trained thousands of nonprofit leaders and staff, virtually and in person, on critical professional-development topics.
TMC's courses provide frameworks and ready-to-use tools on areas such as managing large projects and initiatives, multitasking and prioritization, hiring and performance reviews, coaching, delegation, and more—with a focus on equity and inclusion throughout.
Emerson Collective offers support either to enable your staff members to attend TMC’s public courses or for you to hire TMC to run a training specifically for your organization.
We encourage partners to use the Managing to Change the World course as a first point of exposure. It is TMC’s most comprehensive course; other courses assume you have this foundation. The course includes interactive and exercise-based sessions on topics such as managing workflows and large projects, hiring and managing teams, and delegation and task management.
Additional course listings can be found here. They include options both for managers and staff. Topics include Working for Change; Managing Projects; Managing for Racial Equity, Inclusion and Results; and People of Color and Indigenous Cohorts.
After participating in a course, you will also receive unlimited access to free office hours with The Management Center. View many of their free tools and templates here.
Please note: The Management Center offers only virtual training options at this time.
FUNDING
Emerson Collective will provide up to $7,000 in funding for trainings with The Management Center that take place in 2025.
You may choose to use this funding towards course registration fees for public trainings and / or towards TMC-facilitated group trainings (virtual, or in person, specifically for your organization).
Group trainings may be especially helpful if:
Your organization has more than five (5) people (to whom you would like to provide support, exceeding the course registration fees available via Option #1).
Your organization is located far from training locations.
You would like more custom support.
Some partners may also like to incorporate The Management Center training into their staff retreats.
Please note: We do not provide funding for Management Workout Modules or individual coaching, only for public courses and in-house training options. We also do not provide funding towards travel or associated costs.
NEXT STEPS
Sign up for the sessions most convenient to you on The Management Center’s website or, for an in-house training, visit The Management Center’s website to learn more and request a training.
Pay for the course(s) using your organization’s funds. Grants are directed to the organization, not an individual; please manage accordingly. For in-person courses, we provide funding for the course fee, not travel costs.

FUNDING
Emerson Collective will provide funding for the tuition cost of one (1) person to attend one (1) executive-education program, which occurs in 2025, from the choices listed above. We provide funding for the course fee charged to you by the university. We do not provide funding for travel, hotel, or ancillary costs incurred outside of this registration fee (some program fees charged by universities for in-person courses sometimes include lodging and meals).
NEXT STEPS
Applications are open for these programs, and we recommend applying as soon as possible.
Your organization will pay the initial cost of the tuition. After acceptance, we will provide funding to your organization for the cost of tuition.
Key points of consideration as you plan:
You must independently apply to your desired course through the university.
You do not need to consult us first.
Emerson Collective is not involved in the admissions process. We do not review applications, or in any way influence the likelihood of being accepted to any program.
