Navigating Management Challenges in Difficult Times

This session is led by Jerry Hauser, the Founder and CEO of The Management Center. Over the past 15 years, The Management Center has trained tens of thousands of nonprofit managers and leaders on the practices that help high-performing organizations deliver lasting results. During this session, Jerry shares perspectives on how leaders can navigate through critical management challenges, especially in the current context of COVID-19. The webinar explores questions such as:

• What are pragmatic ways that leaders can manage their teams remotely?

• How can leaders manage ever-changing priorities during this time?

• How should leaders approach difficult conversations around furloughing or laying off team members?

About the Speakers

Since its founding in 2006, The Management Center has worked with over 1,000 nonprofits and trained over 60,000 individual leaders on the practices that help high-performing organizations deliver lasting results over time.

Jerry Hauser is the founder and CEO of The Management Center, as well as the co-author of the seminal Management Center book, “Managing to Change the World.” Previously, Hauser had been a high school teacher, and a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He has held a variety of roles in the social sector, including as second-in-command for seven years at Teach for America.

Carmen McClaskey is a vice president at The Management Center, where she leads client engagements, and develops core-training content. McClaskey has held several roles in the social sector, including as director of programs for the National Young Leaders Conference, and at the National Youth Leadership Forums on Law and National Security, where she shepherded more than 10,000 students through experiential education programming.
