Navigating the First Funder Meeting
This webinar on Emersonian Dinners is led by Jennifer McCrea, a fundraising consultant who has spent more than 30 years advising nonprofits. During this session, McCrea will share why and how to host an Emersonian dinner, adapted from the more widely known Jeffersonian dinner model. She explores how these dinners can foster connection, collaboration, dialogue, and partnership, helping organizations to recruit new partners, develop campaigns or ideas, and unearth resources.
Jennifer McCrea has spent over 30 years advising nonprofits on their fundraising strategies. She is a co-author of “The Generosity Network: Transformational Tools for Successful Fundraising,” and had previously taught a course on nonprofit fundraising at the Harvard Kennedy School. She is also a co-founder and the CEO of Born Free Africa, and is vice chairman of the United Nation’s MDG Health Alliance. McCrea’s perspectives on fund development have been highlighted in outlets including Bloomberg, NPR, Forbes, and many others.
