Measuring Impact
This webinar on scaling impact features Upstream USA, an organization that works to expand opportunity and reduce unplanned pregnancy across the United States. Led by Mark Edwards, this organization has substantially scaled its work over the past five years by expanding across new geographies and by achieving significant, measurable outcomes. During this webinar Edwards shares Upstream’s scaling journey, touching on its learnings related to data collection and measurement, coordinating effectively with government, and fundraising.
Mark Edwards is the CEO and a co-founder of Upstream USA, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization working to expand opportunity and mobility by reducing unplanned pregnancy. Under Edwards’ leadership, Upstream has achieved significant measurable outcomes, including a 24% decrease in unplanned pregnancies among a subset of Title X patients, compared with a 3% decrease nationwide during the same period. Edwards and his team have been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Forbes, NPR, The Atlantic, and many other publications. Prior to co-founding Upstream, Edwards was the founder and executive director of Opportunity Nation. He has served on more than a dozen nonprofit boards and advisory committees. Edwards is a Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation Entrepreneur, and an Ashoka Fellow.
