Leveraging Your Board During Uncertain Times

This webinar is led by Bill Ryan, an EC fan favorite who has spent over 20 years working with nonprofits to build and steward high-performing boards. During this session, Ryan will share perspectives on how leaders can effectively leverage the skills of their boards, especially in the context of COVID-19. The webinar explores questions such as:

• In what ways might leaders identify the skills and knowledge that each board member can bring to the current situation?

• What are the different ways in which an organization can effectively partner with a board member or a group of board members?

• How might a leader make requests to their board that they have not historically made before?

About the Speaker

Bill Ryan is a pioneer in the nonprofit-board-governance space. He is the author of the seminal book “Governance as Leadership: Reframing the Work of Nonprofit,” and has spent over two decades working with organizations as a governance consultant. In addition, Ryan spent 10 years as principal and research fellow at Harvard University’s Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations. He teaches a popular executive education course at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, “Mobilizing Your Nonprofit Board.”
