Since 2012, Harold M. Love, Jr., has represented the 58th district in the Tennessee General Assembly’s House of Representatives, serving on the Education Administration Committee, Local Government Committee, Finance Ways and Means Committee, Higher Education Subcommittee, and Finance Ways and Means Subcommittee. Representative Love is the Pastor of Lee Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Nashville, Tennessee, and serves on the boards of the 18th Avenue Family Enrichment Center, the Dr. N. Joyce Payne Center for Social Justice, Tennessee Advisory Council on Intergovernmental Affairs, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He received his BA in Economics and Finance and PhD in Public Policy and Administration from Tennessee State University, and an MA in Theological Studies from Vanderbilt University’s Divinity School.

Tennessee’s House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the state’s bicameral legislature. Elections are held every even calendar year to choose 99 representatives, one for each of Tennessee’s districts, to serve two-year terms. Districts are redrawn each decade, most recently in 2020.
