This webinar is led by Mark Halpert, the principal of the accounting firm Halpert CPAs. During this session, Halpert provides an overview of the kinds of fraudulent activities that can take place in nonprofit organizations, best practices for mitigating these activities, and two case studies from nonprofit executive directors who experienced—or nearly experienced—financial breaches, and how they managed them.
Mark Halpert is the Principal at Halpert CPAs. He is a certified public accountant, registered in California and in Canada. He has previously held roles as a public accountant and auditor, as well as director of finance in nonprofit and for-profit sectors. His firm specializes in establishing and maintaining accounting systems for nonprofit organizations, with services ranging from developing internal controls, to preparing annual results for audit and tax reporting.
